Helping the industry attract and retain qualified technicians is a major area of work for the association and we have undertaken many programs and initiatives to further that cause, including:

- Establishing Explorer Posts to facilitate automotive career exploration
- Developing a high-quality brochure to promote automotive careers
- Partnering with high school and post-secondary programs to enhance curriculum
- Participating in career fairs and planning and overseeing the Skills USA competition.

Each year, AASP-MN awards over $10,000 to scholarship recipients and mechanical and collision repair students participating in Lights On for Safety and the Skills USA competition.
